In order to present a more reasonable classification of the Duguetia furfuracea group, somemultivariate techniques were adopted to study the interspecific relationship and delimitation of taxa inthe group. The methods used here are principal component analysis (PCA) , principal factor analyses(PFA) , and clustering analyese of average Euclidean distance , Manhattan materic , Bray-Curtis's dis-tance ' Minkowski's distance , Canberra metric as well as correlation coefficient. The results show thatouly 12 distinguishable species in D. furfuracea group can be recognized. D. jonasiana and D. hemmendorf-fii should be synonyms of D.furfuracea, D. brevipedunculata should be brought into synonym of D. ,maro-graviana, while D.lanceolata var. parvifolia can not be accepted as a former variety under D. lanceolataand better be mersed with D. Ianceolata. D. furfuracea group can be roughly divided into two or threeclisely-allied species groups among which some species as D. dicholipidota,D. marcgra-viana, D. echinophora, D.lepidota and D. odorata are apparently allied to d. furfuracea, while some otherspecies as D.glabriuscula,D.riedeliana, D. lanceolata, D. microphylla and D.salicifrolia show slishtly moremorphological divergences with D.furfffuracea than other species in the group.
