摘要 中国大陆第四纪地质发展史的决定性因素是以青藏高原抬升为主的新构造运动,干冷—温暖频繁交替的古气候变化。中国第四纪时期内发生过一系列重大的地质事件:强烈的新构造活动及青藏高原的抬升;频繁的冷暖交替的气候变化;第三纪末以来古湖泊的萎缩和消亡及大陆外流型水系的形成;活跃的火山活动;巨厚黄土的堆积;第四纪大沙漠的形成和发展。 Neotectonic movement and frequent climatic changes are determinative factors which have influenced development of Quaternary history in China-In Quaternary period, several geological events took place, such as periodical uplift of the Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau, frequent alternations of cold and warm climates, decay and disappearence of ancient lakes, formation of rivers flowing to sea, active volcanic activity, deposition of loess in huge thickness, and formation and development of large Quaternary deserts.In late Pliocene- early Pleistocene, neotectonic movement and volcanic activity happened intensively in China continent. In early Pleistocene, embryonic step-like topographic features were formed, loess widely accumulated, and ancient lake basins widely distributed in the continent. In middle Pleistocene, a lot of ancient lakes began to disappear, outflow rivers such as the Huanghe and Changjiang Rivers formed, and continental landforms came near the present landform pattern. In late Pleistocene, ancient lakes mostly died out, climate tended to become dry and cold, vast deserts came into being, and Qinghai-Xizang Plateau uplifted once more. In Holocene, large deserts developed rapidly in the west of China. A great deltaic plain was built by the Changjiang River in the east and modern lakes began to form. Volcanic activity was active again and modern erosional geomorphology developed.
