Final R= 0. 043, Rw= 0. 053 for 2569 observed reflections. The Mn atom is co-ordinated by two Cl anions and four N of two phenanthroline (phen) molecules, forming a distorted octahedron. Two Mn--Cl bond lengths are 2. 437(2) and 2. 449(2) A,respectively. The Mn--N bond lengths vary from 2. 290(3) to 2. 367 (4) A。 The dihedral angle between two phen best planes is 90. 4°.
