摘要
西方工业革命以来 ,美国教育的大众化趋势似乎使教育机会均等成为现实。这样美国的学校教育在西方民主化进程中 ,开始扮演着世界宗教的角色 ,不断创造着新的社会神话 ,并有效地维护了这种神话。但是这种神话建构的基础和目的是什么呢 ?为此 ,本文利用现有的资料文献首先对资本主义美国的学校制度和功能作出分析。其次 ,通过西方社会学家的研究成果 ,可以看到劳工阶级的孩子为什么还会像他们的父辈一样 ,遭受着学业失败并适应“工厂———地板文化”的。第三 ,学校中为什么存在着一种“反学校文化”现象 ,这种文化是劳工阶级权力的一种延伸吗 ?第四 ,透过资本主义美国的学校制度 ,我们可以理解学校教育是怎样制造社会神话的 ,并有效地维护着它。
This article first examines the American educational system that regards obtaining education opportunity as the basic human right and offers a general picture of the role of education in American society.Second,by analyzing the research of western sociologists,the author shows how capitalist school education is incorporated in American values and why the children of working class still suffer academic failure and get used to the so\|called “floor shop culture”like their parents.Third,why does “anti\|school culture”phenomenon exist at American school?Is it a kind of extension of proletarian power?At last,through grasping the nature of American school system,we can understand how the legends are created and maintained effectively in American schools.
