摘要 Due to the two world wars, social, political, and economic instability or corruption almost all over the world in the 20th century, man has been dragged into the state of hopelessness and despair. Moreover, the tradition and legacy of the past have begun to rot. Undoubtedly, such a change had a great influence upon the concept of "utopian society", involving ultimate perfection of all aspects of human life. In the same way, the quest for perfect society was proved to be futile. Thus, the emergence of anti-utopian fiction was unavoidable.
