摘要
英国公学因其历史悠久、为英国社会培养了众多精英人才而享有英国教育的"活化石"和"精英教育的摇篮"的美誉。现在的英国公学声名远扬,除了招收本土学生它还吸引了来自世界各国的学生。公学缘何有如此强大的生命力?这于公学对英国社会的巨大贡献是分不开的,也与英国公学能根据社会发展需要,灵活应变自己的能力分不开的。尽管魅力无穷,公学其实在其发展过程曾多次面临指责与挑战。然而,每次面对挑战,英国公学总能从容面,逢凶化吉。英国公学的成功经验也是我国教育事业学习的好榜样。
Enjoying long history and having cultivated numerous famous graduates in all walks of fields, British Public Schools have won the reputation of ＂the living fossil＂ of the British education or ＂the cradle of the British elites＂. Now, British Public Schools attract students not only from Great Britain itself but also from all parts of the world. What contributes to the strong life vitality of Public School？ It mainly lies in its contribution to the British society and its flexibility to adapt them to the new requirement of the social development.
