Homotranspantation of adrenal medulla into the striatum were carried out in 59 parkinson disease model rats. The changes in concentration of dopamine (DA), high vanillic acid (HVA), Dopac, norepinephrine (NE), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid (5-HIAA) in the striatum were studied High Effective Liquid Chromatography (HELC) before and after the tranplantion besides, the grafts were examined with light microscope and electroscanning microscope. The results revealed that DA concentration was decreased (P<0.05), HVA and Dopac were respectively decreased 35% and 15% in the lesioned striatum. After transplantation of adrenal medulla into the striatum, although the DA concentration was increased, yet it has no statistical significance. In addition, there were a marked elevation of NE concentration (P<0.05), while the concentration of 5-HT and 5-HIAA were unchanged in the striatum after the transplantation. The phenomenon of pheochromocyte neutropism and synaptic formation could be found under the eletroscanning microscope. This means that chromatocytes could developed along the neural line in the influence of external environment after the transplantation.
