On the Decline of the Ogburn School

摘要 20世纪20年代,以美国社会学学者奥格本为核心的一批学者首次对发明进行社会学的研究,形成了一个独特的学术团体即奥格本学派,并且产生了一套在当时颇具影响力的发明社会学理论体系。但是,在经历了30年的学术繁荣之后,奥格本学派逐渐衰落,这主要有三个方面的原因:首先,发明社会学理论自身存在很多缺陷,奥格本学派成员无法克服这些理论缺陷;其次,发明社会学学科发展后劲不足,导致发明社会学的研究阵营日渐萎缩;最后,20世纪60年代美国的社会历史状况也造成了奥格本学派的衰落。 The Ogburn School studied on the invention from sociology and put forward a theory system about sociology of invention in the 1920s.It is unfortunate that this school decline gradually after thirty years flourish.This essay argues that there are three reasons for this decline:firstly,there are some disadvantages in sociology of invention that the school can't conquer;secondly,the members of the school decrease gradually;thirdly,the social and historical background lead to the decline of the school.
