摘要
柏拉图的运动论并非着眼于解释物质世界,而是与灵魂问题息息相关。在《法义》中,通过论证自我运动在诸运动中的首要地位,并将灵魂定义为自我运动,柏拉图证明了灵魂优先于物体,从而扭转了对"自然"和诸神的习俗化理解。柏拉图借助运动论来构建灵魂学,进而将德性完满的灵魂等同于诸神,这不仅避免了自然哲人的无神论对政治共同体的伤害,而且有益于引导有思考力的人追求智慧和灵魂的完善。
Plato's kinematics doesn't aim to explain the material world, but is closely connected with the issue of soul. In the Laws, Plato has proved the priority of soul over body by demonstrating the first place of self-movement in all movements and defining soul as self-movement, thus reversing the understanding of 'nature' and conventional gods. That Plato avails of kinematics to construct the doctrine of soul and further equates soul with perfect virtue to gods not only protects the political community from the damage of atheism maintained by natural philosophers, but is also beneficial to guiding those with contemplative faculties in their pursuit of wisdom and the perfection of soul
