摘要
考察英美成长小说的情节模式和结局对于读解成长小说文本,把握成长小说的发展脉络和趋势具有重要意义,但调研发现研究者对这个问题的观点历来有争议,甚至存在着含混与矛盾的现象。以成长小说文本为依据,在分析前人研究成果的基础上,指出成长小说存在着两种不同的情节发展模式以及与此相对应的两种结局。这两种不同模式和结局的存在与人的心理需求、成长小说的自传体特征以及社会、历史与文化等小说生成语境的变化和差异关系密切。
The study of the plot patterns and endings of British and American Bildungsroman is of great significance for the textual interpretation of Bildungsroman and the command of its developmental history and tendency. Survey shows, however, that different scholars have different ideas about the plots and endings, some of which are ambiguous, even self--contradictory. Based on the texts of Bildungsroman and the previous researches on them,this present paper points out that there are two types of plot patterns and its corresponding endings, which are the reflections of readers' and novelists' psychological demands, the autobiographical features of Bildungsroman, and the changes and differences of the fictional creation contexts such as social, historical, and cultural transformation.
