For the purpose of research on the effects of edge rate bars' temporal frequency and angle on deceleration, road experiments were carried out with four angles (30, 45, 135 and 150 degrees). Data were analyzed by the with and without comparison method and the reusable two- factor analysis of variance. The results show that the average speed, 85% speed and standard deviation of speed respectively decrease by 7.68, 10.14 and 1.58 km · h^- 1 , and the decreases are greatest when the angle is 150 degrees in the four experiments. The distribution range of deceleration is within [-0.25,-0. 491 m · s^-2 when the driver takes the greatest deceleration. The greater the angle and the temporal frequency are, the more significant the deceleration is. The temporal frequency and angle have synergetic mutual function in the impact on the decelera- tion.
