摘要
作为第一位海外出版自己《道德经》译文的中国人,初大告以《老子集训》相关资料作为原文本,以成为中英文化交流的桥梁为目的,遵循自己的原则进行了《道德经》的英译。虽然译文达到了流行性与普及性的效果,但是在中国哲学西传的面向上尚存不足。
As the first Chinese who published overseas the English translation of Dao De Jing, Chu Ta - Kao took LAO ZI JI XUN as the source text, took ＂being the bridge of the Sino - British cultural communication＂ as the aim, followed his own translation principle, and obtained his goal eventually. Although the translation succeeded in its popularity and pervasiveness, but on the aspect of the Chinese philosophy spreading, it still needs to be improved and enhanced.
