Tree seedling quality is one of the key factors which affects field performance.As an important aspect of seedling quality, physiological indexes have been widely studied since 1950′s. The relationship between seedling quality and mineral nutrition, carbohydrate status,water status, growth regulators and cold hardiness were discussed and several methods of seedling physiological indexes testing were introduced.
