摘要
本文用等效电流法将不规则的单模光纤看成是有源的理想光纤,求出极化电流场,并认为光纤损耗是由极化电流激发的准导模产生的。本文将准导模的概念用于等效电流法来求取单模光纤的模耦合损耗。这种方法脱离了耦合波的概念,但物理意义明确,方法简洁。
In this paper, an alternative way is used as equivalent current method by which a nonideal fiber can be viewed as an ideal fiber in the presence of polarization currents giving rise to electromagnetic fields,and the loss of a fiber is considered to be caused by quasi-guided modes excited by polarization currents. The concept of quasi-guided mode is applied in equivalent current method to calculate the loss of a single mode fiber caused by mode conversion. It is an alterna tive method of coupled mode theory without any concerning of mode coupling, but is mathematically simpler and physically more intuitive than the coupled mode theory.
