摘要
本文对光纤局部区域网LAN和MAN设计时应行初步考虑的一些问题提出说明。这些问题包括:计算机数据通信与综合业务数字通信的选择;数字速率和网直径的选择;传输媒介光纤与电缆的选择;异步转移方式应用的考虑;局域网连通公用交换网和无线接入局域网的考虑以及光纤网与微波网结合的考虑。
This paper briefly discusses some preliminary considerations for planning the optical fiber LAN and MAN. These include: the choice for computer data communication vs integrated service digital communication; choice of the digital rate and network diameter; choice of optical fiber vs conductor cable as transmission medium; choice of network topology architecture and protocols; application on technoloy; consideration on LAN and MAN's access to public exchange network; tetherless access of personal portable radio communicator to LAN and MAN; and consideration on the joint operation of lightwave and microwave networks.
