摘要
周馥从 1 871年至 1 899年对永定河、金钟河、北运河、潮白河、大清河等直隶河道进行勘察与治理 ,并取得了良好的效果。周馥治水重视调查研究 ,注重兼顾农业生产和农民生活。周馥治水的成功 ,使直隶地区百姓在一定程度上减少了水患漂溺之苦 ,促进了直隶地区经济的发展。
ZHOU Fu reconnoitred and harnessed the rivers in Zhili District such as the Yongding River,the Jingzhong River,the Beiyun River,the Chaobai River and the Daqing River,etc.and achieved favourable effects.While bringing the water under control,ZHOU Fu emphasized investigations and researches,and attached importance to agricultural production and the peasants'lives.The success of his harnessing the rivers reduced the people's suffering from the flood and drought,and promoted the economic development in the district.
