The cultural turn in translation studies enables the translator to have more and more subjectivity. In the grand context of culture, some western scholars declare Translation Studies has returned to questions of ethics. And Andrew Chesterman' s theory on translation ethics models provides a new perspective to study translator' s subjectivity. While conducting cross-cultural communication, the translator should abide by relevant translation and professional ethics with the awareness of that subjectivity is the unity of translator' s activity and passivity.
