The major challenge of the resources and environment science faced in 21 st century is to properly understand the corresponding relationship between economic construction and reousrces and environment. Geologic science will play an important role in this aspect. This paper analyzed the great impetus that geologic science gave to the development of social economy, and pointed out great missions that geologic science will face in the 21 st century.
