Advances in the Stem Cell of Central Nervous Systems

摘要 中枢神经系统(CNS)的干细胞(stemcell of central nervous system)是近年来神经科学研究的热点之一,它不仅涉及神经系统的发育,而且在神经损伤修复和退行性疾病的治疗中均有重要的应用前景。虽然CNS干细胞的研究还远远落后于血液系统干细胞的理论和应用现状,但对于存在许多难题亟待解决的神经生物学而言,神经干细胞的问世可以说是神经生物学领域内的又一重大进展。 Some research work on stem cell of central nervous system(CNS), in recent years, has exploded many longstanding dogmas in the stem cell world, giving adult stem cells a new lease on life. The term 'neural stem cell is used to describe cells that are derived from the nervous system and can generate neural tissues. They have some capacity for self-renewal and generate differentiation neurons and glia. Neural stem cells exist not only in the developing mammalian nervous system but also in the adult nervous system of all mammalian organisms, including humans. Stem cells were isolated and expanded from adult nervous system in vitro. It is yet unclear whether these cells represent independent stem cell populations or if they may share a lineage relationship in which the slowly dividing ependymal cells might generate the more rapidly proliferating astrocytes. Further elucidation of stem cell identity and potential is important for the application of such cell in CNS repair strategies, in particular neural transplantation in various neurodegenerative disorders.
