Objective To discuss the effects of touching for infants under six months after extracorporeal circulation congenital heart disease operation .Methods A total of 32 infants with congenital heart disease who were hospitalized between January , 2012 and December , 2012 were chosen and randomly divided into observation group ( n=16 ) and control group ( n=16 ) .The usual care was carried out for the control group and the extra touching was for the observation group .The average milk-intake per day , the variation of heart rate and blood pressure , sleep quality , weight when leaving hospital , the remove time of drainage tube , the time of hospital stays , C-reaction protein , blood glucose , glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and creatinine were compared. Results There was more milk-intake per day in observation group [(381.5 ±42)ml vs (357.5 ±58) ml] and the remove time of drainage tube was shorter in the observation group than that in the control group [(71.8 ±14.0) h vs (92.5 ±15.8) h].There were significant differences between two groups (t=4.62, 3.92, respectively; P〈0.05).75% infants in observation group obtained better quality of sleep than the control group 56.3%.Infants experiencing excessive fear was 18.8% among observation group and significantly lower than the control group (χ2 =6.312, P〈0.05).Conclusions Touching is a simple and convenient intervening measure for the infants under six months after extracorporeal circulation congenital heart disease operation , and it has obvious benefits and important meaning for postoperative recovery .
