摘要
文章选自作者新近出版的《理性捍卫大学》,该书由北京大学出版社正式出版,经作者和出版社授权,同意将该书的序言节选刊登于此,为的是让更多的读者了解作者对大学的爱,对大学的敬畏,对大学的期待包括对大学较之他人更加深刻的认识,较之他人更多的批评甚至批判的意识。透过这篇序言的文字倾诉,反映了一位大学理想主义者锲而不舍地坚守大学理性和发自肺腑的"大学必须回归科学理性,必须牢记对国家负责的使命,必须弘扬和守持理想主义"等学术呼喊。
Mr. Sui Yifan＇s Rational Defense for University will soon be published by Peking Universi ty Press. Empowered by the author and the Press, this journal publishes some excerpts from its pref ace to make known to the reader his love and reverence for university, his expectation of university re vealed through his deep understanding and criticism of it. From his words, we can see an idealist who persistently pursues the rationality of university and hear his earnest appeal ＂for university＇s return to scientific rationality, for undertaking responsibility for the country and for developing and sticking＂ to idealism.
