Numerical Simulations of Air Damping in the Measurement of Moment of Inertia Using Torsion Pendulum Method

摘要 在测定刚体转动惯量实验中,将空气的阻尼分为粘性阻尼和压差阻尼,在假设粘性阻尼与速度成正比的情况下得到了非线性动力学方程.数值模拟结果显示,强度不同的两种阻尼对刚体转动周期的影响有别.在综合研究的基础上,给出了实验中能够减小空气阻尼引起误差的操作事项,对实验过程具有指导意义. The air damping is usually included viscous damping and pressure damping in the measurement of moment of inertia using torsion pendulum method. If assumption viscous damping proportional to the speed, the nonlinear dynamic equations of swinging rigid body was obtained. The effect of different strength of two kinds of air damping on the swinging rigid body is numerically simulated, respectively. It is shown that the effect of pressure damping is greater than viscous damping in the measurement of moment of inertia. Finally, some considerations of reducing errors caused by air damping are presented.
