摘要
在《新科学》一书中,维柯从"诗性智慧""语言产生""文明起源""历史循环"等角度探讨了原始人类的思维和文化,以此作为解读人类史前文明的钥匙,从神话考查原始社会与原始思维的方法对了解早期人类文明开辟了新路径,并影响了此后美学、神话学等学科的发展。维柯在《新科学》中对神话故事的解读反映出他想要解决的核心问题就是"人类是如何起源并发展的"。这种肯定神话价值并将其自觉运用到认识人类社会的尝试,对后来众多学者的研究都产生了直接的影响,如赫尔德、缪勒、卡西尔等人都在不同程度上沿袭了这种方法,由此可见维柯在西方思想史上的重要地位。
Vico in his book New Science analyzes people＇ s thinking and culture in primitive society from the angles ＂poetic wisdom＂,＂ the origin of the language＂, ＂the beginning of civilization＂, and ＂historic cycle＂ and uses this way to explain pre-histor- ical civilization. His new view has a big influence on aesthetics and mythology and so on. Vice＇ s understanding of myth in New Sci- ence reflects his research is on the origin and development of human beings. This way has a direct influence on many later scholars, such as Herder, Max Muller, and Ernst Cassirer, which shows Vico＇ s important position in western thought history.
