The implementation process of the proficiency testing program of leather heavy metal content determination （ CNAS T0706） was introduced, including program design, sample description, uniformity and stability test, the results of statistical, etc. The problems existing and unsatisfactory results were also analyzed, providing reference and help to improve the detection capabili- ty of the project for the participating laboratories.
