摘要
普林尼、黑格尔、阿瑟·丹托曾先后提出"艺术终结"之说,尤其丹托《艺术的终结》更是引起学术界持续已久的争鸣。鉴于目前众说纷纭的现状,要弄清"艺术终结"的断言,一方面离不开对理论提出者观点的澄清,另一方面也离不开对新媒体辈出时代艺术现状的考察。从理论层面来看,"艺术终结"决非艺术死亡,但艺术终结之说也自有其裂隙。从新媒体时代的艺术实践来看,"艺术终结"只是幻影,艺术的类型和表现手法发生了嬗变,新媒体艺术作为新的艺术类型日新月异。
Pliny, Hegel and Danto mentioned "the end of art" and Danto's The End of Art caused long-lasting contention in academic circles. Given the current variety of opinions, to figure out the assertion of "the end of art", two things need to be done: one is to clarify the view point of the presenters, and the other is to observe the status quo of art in this era when new media keep emerging. Theoretically speaking, "the end of art" is not the death of art thou this assertion itself has some flaws. From the perspective of artistic practice in the era of new media, it is a phantom in which transformations occur in art types and expression. This transformation also happens to new media which is a new type of art.
