徐厚雄老师如今已是90岁高龄。他毕业于中央大学师范学院音乐系,1949年受聘于"武昌艺专"担任钢琴教师。后任教于中原大学文艺学院、中南文艺学院、中南音乐专科学校、湖北艺术学院,任附中钢琴科主任。1985年后,他在武汉音乐学院师范部任教。徐厚雄老师亲历了武汉音乐学院60多年的变迁。他是当年中原大学接管武昌艺专教师中唯一健在的历史见证者。
Mr. Xu Houxiong is 90 years old this year. He graduated from the Teachers College Music Department at Central University, and employed by ＂Wuchang Art Specialized Institute＂ as piano teacher in 1949. Later, he taught at Art School of Zhongyuan College, Art College in CentralSouth China, Music Acad emy in CentralSouth China, Huhei Art Institute, as a director of piano section of the Affiliated Middle School. After 1985, he taught at Department of TeacherTrainlng. Xu Houxiong is the only living teacher to witness the history that the Zhongyuan College took over the Wuchang Art Specialized Institute, and he expe rience personally the chan^es of Wuhan Conservatoryof Music more than 60 years.
