摘要
Internet上存在着众多的Z39.50服务器,它们大都和图书馆等文献信息服务机构的信息数据库相连,为用户提供联机检索服务。目前Web浏览器还不支持Z39.50协议,检索这些服务器需要Z39.50客户系统。鉴于国内的Z39.50客户系统还不多见,该文从不同角度对Z39.50客户的特征和部分产品进行比较,以为图书馆选择相关产品提供参考。
There are many Z39.50 servers on Internet, which are providing online bibliographic data and other information services. Current Web browsers do not support access to Z39.50 servers and so a Z39.50 client is needed. Since there is little such system available, in this paper, a guide based on the user s perspective to the selection of Z39.50 client is given. As some knowledge of the Z39.50 standard is helpful in the process of selection, brief descriptions of some of the major aspects of Z39.50 are also included.
