摘要
本文介绍了EDGE(Enhanced Data rate for GSM Evolution)在第二阶段的无线接入网 GERAN(GSM/EDGE Radio Access Network)的技术标准、业务功能等,并总结出与目前 GSM网络结构兼容的 EDGEPhase 2网络结构布局。
In this paper, the techinical standard is introduced as well as services and performance of the GSM/ EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) of EDGE phase 2. Besides that, the GERAN architecture which provides a full backward compatibility toward current GSM system is also presented.
