词源学研究可使我们发本求真。维柯基于"真理即创造"之哲学基础,从词源学视角论述了他的人文教育思想:依循禀性而为之教育,调和感觉与理智之关系,促进身心和谐之教育以及重视道德之教育。它对现代的启示为:顺应儿童天性是教育之发端;培养创造力为教育之命脉;促进整体和谐称教育之核心;导向成人之果系教育之宗旨;涵育自我选择谓教育之精神。
The study of etymology enables people to trace to the root for the truth. Based on the philos- ophy of "the truth itself is made" (verum is factum), Vico's humanistic educational thoughts are expoun- ded as following: to educate by nature, to reconcile the relationship between sense and intellect, to pro- mote education of physical and mental harmony, and to attach importance to moral education. It has impli- cations for modern time: to conform to the nature of children is the inception of education; to cultivate the creativity is the lifeline of education; to promote harmony is the core of education; to prepare to be an a dult is the aim of education; and to enable self decision making is the spirit of education.
