摘要
档案编目编码技术（EAD）开发始于20世纪90年代。其技术基础是图书目录学的技术标准，包括MARC、MARCAMC、SGML、THML、XML等。EAD的发展使档案在服务观念和服务手段等方面都从传统的“保管”转变到现代信息社会的信息利用上。EAD的发展历程说明：人类信息资源共享建设需要来自图书馆、情报学、档案部门以及计算机技术等多种学科领域的共同努力来实现。
The development of Encoded Archival Description (EAD) began in 1990'. It's basic technology is the library catalogue encoding including MARC, MARC AMC, SGML,THML, XML etc. The development of EAD has changed the traditional archival community in service concept and method from 'preservating' to 'using'. The developing of the EAD has indicated that the building of human information resource requires cooperative endeavors from libraries. Information science, archival science and computer science.
