Experimental Study of Users' Cognition during Exploratory Search

摘要探索式搜索是网络环境下新的搜索模式。为了探讨探索式搜索过程中搜索者的认知变化特点,文章采用日志分析、有声思维、访谈与问卷调查相结合的方法进行实验。针对复杂程度不同的两个搜索任务,从认知的外在表现,即行为和情绪,以及认知的内在表现,即感知觉、注意力分配、记忆、思维等方面对搜索者所表现出的认知变化特点进行了对比分析。结果表明:随着探索式搜索复杂程度的增加,用户在搜索中表现出更复杂的认知改变。 Exploratory search is a new search mode in the network environment.To explore the characteristics of the changes of the searcher's cognition during the exploratory search process,this article combines the methods of log analysis,thinking aloud,interview and questionnaire survey to design an experiment.Based on the 2 search tasks with different complexities,the article makes a comparative analysis of the characteristics of the changes of the searcher's cognition from the external expression of cognition,that is,behavior and emotion,and from the internal expression of cognition,that is,perception,attention distribution,memory and thinking.The results indicate that with the increase of the complexity of exploratory search,the user's cognition shows more complicated changes during the search process.
