Objective To compare the pediatric fall incidence and fall injury rate two years before and two years after implementing the systematic high-risk pediatric fall prevention strategies. Methods Retrospec- tive design was used to analyze the hospitalized pediatric fall reports before and after implementing the sys- tematic high-risk pediatric fall prevention strategies. Results After implementing the high-risk pediatric fall prevention strategies, fall incidence decreased from 0. 1464/1000 patient-days to 0. 0981/1000 patient- days, and the injury fall rate decreased from 0. 1046/1000 patient-days to 0.049/1000 patient-days. Conclu- sion Fall incidence and fall injury rate of hospitalized children were all decreased after the implementation of high- risk fall precautions, which prompt that higb,-risk fall precautions can reduce accidental fall injury rate.
