摘要
"大、小"的空间义是表示事物的整体形状,可以与各种维度类型的事物组合,倾向于描述维度不凸显的事物。"大、小"几乎能够描述绝大多数的抽象事物,其隐喻义的目标域大致分为时间域和抽象量域。
The Chinese adjectives ＂da＂ （big） and ＂xiao＂ （small） are used to modify the shape and can be grouped togeth- er with the nouns of various dimensions. And they tend to describe objects of which dimensions are not so salient. Besides, the two words can describe the most abstract things. And there is the distinction between time and abstract domains of their meta- phorical semantic fields.
