《困扰我们的孩子》是伦敦罗汉普敦大学儿童文学研究中心苏珊汉考克教授关于童话文学批评的力作。该书以荣格心理分析的原型理论为基础,通过对文本的分析,比较了十个不同国家和民族的迷你孩子的原型,从集体潜意识的角度揭示成人作家是如何创造孩子的形象,进而思考社会对待孩子的态度。该书深入细致地解释了童话中迷你孩子的种种问题,提供了运用原型理论成功阐释儿童文学的范例,具有重要的学术价值和应用价值。
The Child that Haunts Us, a good book on the talrytale literary crmclsm, wr:ttcn by Susan Hancock at the National Centre for Research in Children's literature, Roehampton University, London, based on Jungian literary critical theory--theory of archetype, makes a comparison of 10 miniature archetypes from different cotmtries and nations by textual analysis. It explores how the adult authors create child images from the perspective of the collective unconsciousness and express the attitude of the society towards children. It presents a good example of successful application of the theory of archetype to the interpretation of the children's literature through detailed explanation of many miniature children's problems, which renders the book great academic and practical value.
