摘要
本文依据“雷母”的语音形式，把苗瑶语族分为两个语支，共六种语言。与以往划分不同，本文认为苗语支只有一种语言，而瑶语支则有五种语言。“雷母”是苗瑶语族诸语言、方言语音对应关系十分独特的一个声母。通过诸语言之间的语音比较，我们将苗瑶语“雷母”的古音形式构拟为＊sm-。
The Lei initial is unique in terms of sound correspondences among the Miao-Yao languages and dialects. Based on the modem reflexes of the reconstructed Lei initial, this paper, along with the traditional view, divides the Miao-Yao languages, altogether six of them, into two sub-branches. However, distinct from the traditional view, it argues that the Miao sub-branch consists of only one language, whereas the Yao sub-branch includes five languages. By virtue of the comparison of the related languages, this initial is more reasonably reconstructed as ＊sm- instead of＊phs-.
