摘要
加拿大汉学的产生和发展,与19世纪末来华的加拿大传教士有莫大的关系。首先,源自他们的中国经验的特写、书信、回忆录以及在古文化、文学等方面的著作,成为中国研究的重要文本。他们及其后代在社会、外交和大学的各种活动,奠定了汉学的基础,并坚固了汉学的合法性和地位。
The rise and development of sinology in Canada is closely related with Canadian missionaries who came to China in the late 19th century.First of all,the features,letters,memoirs based on their experiences in China as well as their works on traditional Chinese culture and literature have become important texts for Chinese studies.Secondly,the various activities of them and their offsprings in society,diplomacy and universities have laid a foundation for sinology and have also strengthened the legitimacy and status of sinology.
