摘要
系统整理了我国西南及其邻近地区的社鼠标本 ,发现原指名亚种分布区内的四川雅江八角楼一带的标本 ,因体背暗黄褐色显著 ,尾无白色尖端等特征有别于社鼠指名亚种和其他亚种 ,且其颧板宽与指名亚种Niviventerconfucianusconfucianus之间的差异系数 (C D )达 1 49,达到亚种水平 ;而云南德钦的社鼠 ,因其体背毛黄灰褐色显著 ,听泡较小 ,平均约 4 9mm等特征与指名亚种及其他亚种差异明显。主成分分析 (PC)和判别分析 (DA)的结果也表明上述两地的标本都各自形成一个有别于指名亚种的类群 ,故分别将上述两地的标本订为 2新亚种 :雅江亚种 (N c yajianensissubsp nov )和德钦亚种 (N c deqinensissubsp nov )。由此确立了西南地区原社鼠指名亚种至少应分为 3个亚种。
This paper reports results of our taxonomic study on subspecies of Chinese white bellied rat ( Niviventer confucianus ) collected in southwestern China.The difference of pelage coloration and coefficient of difference ( C D ) on 17 selected cranial and dental variables among samples from this region were analyzed to assess the difference between the sample and the nominate subspecies N c confucianus .92 individuals with complete skulls from this region were then submitted to multivariate analyses.The results showed that the samples from Yajiang,western Sichuan and Deqin,northwestern Yunnan,which have once been includedin N c confucianus ,weredistinguishedfrom N c confucianus and should be respectively considered as two new subspecies.We propose to name them and to describe them respectively as: 1 Niviventer confucianus yajiangensis Deng & Wa ng subsp nov Holotype:KIZ?820284,male (ad ),collected on September 27,1982,from Bajiaolou,Yajiang,Sichuan,Alt.3?100?m. Paratype:KIZ?820287,male (ad.),collected on September 28,1982,from the same locality as holotype.Alt.3?100?m. Specimens examined:3 males,5 females,all adults,from the same locality as holotype. All the specimens are deposited in Kunming Institute of Zoology,the Chinese Academy of Sciences (KIZ). Diagnosis:size and skull larger,head and body measuring 141 4 (125-150)?mm;tail 169 7(155-183)?mm;hind foot 28 4(27-30) ?mm;ear 20 6(18-23)?mm;great length of skull 37 7(35 4-39 5)?mm;palatal length 19 1(17 9-20 0) ?mm;M 1-3 6 2(6 0-6 6)?mm,M 1-3 6 1(5 9-6 5)?mm.Dorsal pelage buffy brownish;1/3 of the back of fore and hind foot near wrist and ankle,dark brownish;other parts and fingers as well as toes,whitish;tail bicolored,dark brownish above,whitish below,all without white tip. 2 Niviventer confucianus deqinensis Deng & Wang subsp nov Holotype:KIZ?79627,male (ad.),collected on November 20,1979,from Adong,Deqin,northwest Yunnan,China.Alt.2?900?m. Paratype:KIZ?79664,female (ad.),collected from the same locality as holotype.Alt.2?950?m. Species examined:32 males,29 females,all adults,from the same locality as holotype. All the specimens are deposited in Kunming Institute of Zoology,the Chinese Academy of Sciences (KIZ). Diagnosis:Sizeandskullverysimilarto N c confucianus ,but it distinguished from the latter by its yellow gray brownish pelage on the dorsal surface,its scarcity of white tail tip,and its smaller auditory bullae,averaging 4 9?mm,about 14 35% of great length of skull (GLS). Remarks:After making detailed comparisons with other races of this Chinese white bellied rat which collected from southwestern China and its adjacent region,the new subspecies N c yajiangensis is easily distinctive from the nominate subspecies N confucianus confucianus by its larger size,darker dorsal pelage with a conspicuous buffy brownish tint,distinctly bicolored tail with no white tip,and its broader zygomatic plate averaging 3 8(3 3-4 0)?mm instead of 3 0 (2 6-3 5)?mm,which contributes the C D to be 1 49[>1 28,which was considered to be sufficient for subspecies recognition by Mayr et al .(1953)];the other new subspecies N c deqinensis also can be easily distinguished from N c confucianus by its yellow gray brownish dorsal pelage without flat spines,and its smaller auditory bullae which averages only 4 9?mm instead of 5 1?mm.Multivariate analyses among those two new subspecies and N c confucianus were given in Chinese text to show all the samples were correctly classified. In conclusion,we suggest this Chinese white bellied rat be subdivided into 10 subspecies. They are N c confucianus , N c sacer , N c chihliensis , N c lotipes , N c yushuensis , N c mentosus , N c na oniuensis , N c yajiangensis , N c deqinensis and N c culturatus .The Taiwan race N c culturatus is tentatively treated as a subspecies according to literatures for lack of specimens.
