Objective To explore the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on blood levels of C - reactive protein and glucose in patients with traumatic brain injury. Methods Seventy two patients with craniocerebral injury treated in this hospital during January to June, 2012 were randomly divided into control group and trial group, patients in control group were given with routine treatment, and patients in trial group were given with hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the basis of routine treatment, and blood levels of C reactive protein and glucose were compared between these two groups before and after treatment. Results The blood level of C - reactive protein was decreased in these two groups after treatment, the degree of decrease in patients of trial group was significantly lower than that of patients in control group, and their difference was statistically signif- icant ( P 〈 0.05 ). The blood level of glucose in patients of these 2 groups was gradually decreased after treatment for 1, 3,5 and 7 days, but the degree of decrease in patients of trial group was significantly better than that of patients in control group, and their difference was statistically signif- icant ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion The application of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in patients with traumatic craniocerebral injury had ideal effect of lowering the blood levels of C - reactive protein and fasting glucose, it is helpful in keeping the vital signs of patients in stable condition, and it can promote the recovery of neural function and improve the prognosis and reduce the rates of disability and mortality.
