Objective:To study the semen quality of male infertility patients in Huzhou area, China. Methods: The semen quality of 1839 infertility patients in Huzhou area was detected using computer- assisted semen analysis technology. Results: 1. All the indexes above the lower limit of reference value accounted for 48.12% of the semen specimens. 2. The percentage of forward movement sperm, sperm motility and sperm with normal morphology de- creased with the increase of age. 3. With the decrease of sperm motility and sperm concentration, the semen speci- mens above and below the lower limit of reference value had statistical significance in difference of VAP, VSL and VCL(P 〈0.05 ), while the difference had no statistical significance in BCF, MAD and VLH(P 〉0.05). Conclu- sion: The infertile men in Huzhou area are mainly characterized by a decrease in sperm motility and forward move- ment sperm and morphologically normal sperm. The correlation of age with sperm motility and incidence of astheno- spermia and oligospermia suggests that men also have an appropriate childbearing age.
