摘要
学界普遍认为燕京大学社会学系受英国功能论人类学影响至深,但是却鲜有研究关注到二者之间的双向互动。实际上,在引进此派学说时,该系师生也并非立即认可与接受,而是经历了一个态度和实际行为上的动态转变过程。他们富有新意地将原本在西方看来相互对立的文化功能论与文化传播论予以糅合,并明确指出英国功能论人类学的几种偏颇与不足。这些努力反映了该系师生探究与理解中国社会的主体性意识和对西方学术理论和方法的反思批判精神,对我们今天的学界也不乏启示和借鉴价值。
In the Academia field, it is generally agreed that the department of sociology in Yenching University was deeply affected by the British functionalist anthropology. But there are few studies dealt with the bilateral interaction between the department and the School of Anthropology, which leads to the unilateral understanding upon the rela- tionship. Actually, the students and faculty of this department did not immediately recognize and accept the British functionalist anthropology for there was a change process in terms of attitude and behavior. They not only combined functionalism with diffusionism innovatively, but also specified several defects and deficiencies of British functionalist anthropology. These efforts implied the subjective consciousness of the students and faculty in understanding Chinese society, and the reflective and critical attitude towards Western academic theories and methodologies, which are un- doubtedly quite significant and valuable to today＇s development of Chinese sociology and anthropology.
