Objective: To explore the effect of magnesium sulphate combined with nifedipine on antioxidant capacity and hemorhe- ology of patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy (HDCP) . Methods: Thirty -three patients with HDCP who were trea- ted with magnesium sulphate combined with nifedipine from July 2010 to May 2012 were selected as study group, and 33 patients with HDCP who were treated with magnesium sulphate during the same period were selected as control group; serum levels of methane diearboxylic alde- hyde (MDA), glutathion peroxidase (GSH -Px), TAC, superoxide dismutase (SOD), whole blood viscosity (WBV), and whole blood re- duced viscosity (WBRV) before treatment and at five days after treatment in the two groups were compared. Results: There was no statisti- cally significant difference in MDA, GSH - Px, TAC, SOD, and WBV before treatment between the two groups ( P 〉 0.05 ) ; while at five days after treatment, serum levels of MDA, WBV, and WBRV in study group were statistically significantly lower than those in control group, the serum levels of GSH - Px, TAC, and SOD were statistically significantly higher than those in control group ( P 〈 0. 05 ) . Con- clusion: Magnesium sulphate combined with nifedipine plays an active role in improving antioxidant capacity and hemorheological indexes of patients with HDCP, and the clinical value is high.
