20世纪20年代至40年代,随着无线电广播的诞生、发展,苏州评弹成为无线电广播不可或缺的重要内容,一些商家借助苏州评弹在无线电广播播送商业广告,评弹艺人也凭借无线电广播一举成名。无线电广播播放的三弦叮咚声回荡在上海的大街小巷,成为这座现代化都市的一道独特风景。
With the appearance and development of wireless radio broadcast from the 1920s to the 1940s, Suzhou Pingtan (local opera) became an indispensible part of the radio. Some businessmen took the opportunity to broadcast commercial advertisements and some singers of Pingtan rose to fame. The sound of Suzhou Pingtan was heard now and then in Shanghai the modern metropolis.
