The changes of nail micro-circulation (NMC) in 218 patients suffering from COPD were observed and compared with 288 normal individuals. The findings showed that abnormal rates including 12 items of NMC was dramatically higher than those of the control subject (p<0.01) The abnormal rates including 4 items, such as capillary arrangement, width of ansa top, flow rate in microcirculation and hemorrhage, were increasing when the patients condition was aggravating (p<0.05). In healthy persons and patients with chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema and cor pulmonale the mean value of 5 items, such as, number width and length of capillary ansae, diameter of arterioles and venules was decreasing when the patients was getting worse.
