国内对于莱斯·马瑞的研究不多,因此对其人其诗歌也不甚了解。莱斯·马瑞是当代澳大利亚著名诗人,以传统诗歌创作闻名于世。《冬青树》(The Ilex Tree)是莱斯·马瑞与莱曼合作出版的首个诗歌集。该诗歌集获得了当年度(1965年)澳大利亚国内the Grace Leven Prize诗歌大奖。论文以莱斯·马瑞在悉尼大学求学为主线,探讨了《冬青树》创作的背景,揭示了莱斯·马瑞大学教育、人生经历及社会背景与《冬青树》创作之间的关系。
So far, there is little research on Les Murray in China. That＇ s why we know little about him. Les Murray, who is famous for his creation of conventional poetry, is a poet in Australia. Tbe Ilex Tree is his first collected poetry cooperated with Geoffrey Lehmann. The poetry won the Grace Leven Prize in Australia in 1965. His road to the creation of the poetry can be traced back to his days in Sydney University. Based on this, the essay analyses Murray＇ s experiences from the unknown to the poetic intelligence and explores the background of his university＇ s background and configuration of his poetic characteristics so that it can show us the significance of the creation of The Ilex Tree.
