This paper introduces Your Better Life Index(YBLI) which is developed by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) , including the construction background, research significance, index system and calculating methods. It studies the statistical characteristics of Your Better Life Index, Material Living Condition Index (MLCI) , Quality of Life Index(QLI) and the relationship between each of these indicators and GNI per Capita by the data of Your Better Life Index of its member countries published by OECD. The conclusion shows that MLCI increases as GNI per Capita rises, but the relationship between YBLI and GNI per Capita and the relationship between QLI and GNI per Capita are both nonlinear, which means that there are significant threshold effects. The aim of this study is to explore better methods to measure social progress, and to promote the reform and innovation in the system of statistical reports.
