This paper explains scientifically the most important properties of laterite nickel ore including geological structure, distribution and mineral composition difference, etc and restates the significance of laterite nickel ore. As the emphasis, the advanced technological process of laterite in the world and its advantages and disadvantages are detailed. It is summarized and forecast that the wet and smelting process of treatment of laterite advance and de velop in recent years.
