The Chinese founder of the proposition,' one divides into two',is Shao Yong,not Yang Shangshan.In modern China,the proposition has been twisted in a way that suits the need of political reality.As a matter of fact,neither' one'nor' two'can exist by itself.Both require the opposite for self－ definition.
