Chaogong' extra Reward items of the Song Dynasty were more abundant, there were dress, silver, silk, horses, weapeon, tea and medicine etc. The government of the Song Dynasty tried to reach its political and military purposes throught the extra reward. On one hand, the extra reward to the northwest and southwest minority regime was quite effective. Due to the strategic demand, the government of the Song Dynasty drew Uighur and Tubo over to its side and formed a military alliance by regarding huge rewards as an important political and economic means. On the other hand, in many cases the effect was rather limited, and it paid a heavy cost to the economy.
