Objective To explore the clinical effect of axillary venous indwelling needle on the neonates with intravenous transfusion. Methods 400 neonates were randomly divided into ex- perimental group and control group, each group contained 200 neonates. The experimental group was conducted with axillary venous indwelling needle, while the control group was conducted with superficial venous indwelling needle in the four limbs or scalp. Indwelling duration and adverse reac- tion were analyzed and compared between two groups. Results The indwelling duration of the ex- perimental group was significantly longer than the control group, and adverse reaction of the experi- mental group was less than the control group, there were statistical differences between two groups (P 〈 0.05). Conclusion Implementing intravenous transfusion for neonates by axillary venous in- dwelling needle can reduce the physical and mental sufferings of neonates due to repeated puncture, provide timely intravenous route for therapeutic drugs, improve the efficiency of the neonates res- cue, reduce the nurses nursing workload and improve the quality of nursing and satisfaction of fami- ly.
