摘要 双语教育对于一个国家的发展和综合国力的提升具有重要的战略意义。作为多语种国家的重要代表,澳大利亚的双语教育有着悠久的历史,并获得了世界的瞩目。研究者立足于加强了解澳大利亚双语教育的缘起及概况,借鉴其成功的经验和吸取教训,并结合反思国内双语教育实践过程中的困境,从双语教育的战略意义、保障机制、师资建设及其他相关细节问题提出启示,以期能够对推动我国高校双语教育工作的开展提供可资参考的建议。 Strategically, bilingual education plays a significant role in the development of a nation and the enhancement of state, power. Australia is known as a typical multi-lingual nation; its bilingual education boasts a long history, and receives worldwide attention. The study starts with a description of the origin and current situation of Australia's bilingual education, and then moves on to analyze its merits and demerits, finally it puts forth some implication with regard to its strategic signifi- cance, developmental mechanism, faculty construction, and other relevant details in order to help the bilingual education in China out of its current dilemma. Hopefully, this study can serve as a propeller to aid the development of bilingual education in Chinese higher educational institutions.
